Some students will be expected to arrive at the academy as early as 7.30am for morning mastery
  • all students begin their day with breakfast and Morning Meeting which includes, retrieval practice (focused on critical knowledge); literacy and numeracy development; strengthening of school culture; value expectations reset; and appreciations/recognition
  • reading- students will have the opportunity to participate in dedicated independent reading of a range of captivating and intriguing texts. This will support them to develop their autonomy, accuracy and comprehension. Some students will complete targeted reading intervention.
  • on Mondays and Tuesdays, the school day will finish at 15.30 for all students, except Year 10 and Year 11 who will finish at 16.15
  • on Wednesdays and Thursdays, the school day will finish at 15.30 for all students
  • throughout the week we have an optional extra-curricular taking place before and after school
  • on Fridays, the school day will finish at 14.30 for all students
  • the iBase will be open until 5pm Monday – Thursday
  • for Year 7 - Year 9, same day corrections (detentions of up to 2 hours) start at 15.30 on Monday - Thursday and 14.30 on Friday

The full details of our academy day can be found below in the downloads section, and also in our Family Handbook.

A significant number of students are also expected to attend morning intervention from 7.30am or after school intervention, which may run until 6pm. With an extended academy day, students have more time in the classroom to acquire knowledge, skills and understanding, as well as more opportunities to broaden their education.

At Dixons Trinity Academy, we believe that there are no shortcuts to success and our students would not make the progress they do without more time in school.
